Giving suitable items a useful next chapter

Across Devon, a huge amount of furniture, equipment and household goods is thrown away every year when it could be reused, refurbished or upcycled.

We are a local not-for-profit social enterprise. From every clearance we do, we assess suitable items for reuse, refurbishment, upcycling or charitable use, helping useful things find another purpose and funding our community work.

What can be reused

Suitability comes first

Condition, practicality and demand all affect whether an item can be reused. Not every item can be donated or refurbished. We will assess the contents and explain what can be accepted as part of your clearance.

Reuse and community

What happens to suitable items

Furniture and working technology

Furniture and working computer equipment are among the items we can assess. Depending on suitability, they may be considered for reuse or refurbishment. Equipment containing data needs agreed handling arrangements before collection.

How this can affect a clearance quote

Where suitable items have resale value, they may help reduce the clearance cost. Any allowance must be agreed and shown in the quote. The work, transport and disposal costs still need to be considered.

Our community purpose

We work to establish a funding stream, through house and office clearance, carpet cleaning and eco-friendly services and the reuse and refurbishment of equipment, towards an alternative technology education centre for adults with learning difficulties, promoting positive change through social enterprise.
